Perhaps the most beloved riverside bar in Budapest, the opening of Pontoon means the unofficial start of summer in Budapest. Perched on the Pest side of the Danube, right under the Chain Bridge, Pontoon is constructed every summer to give people a place to drink in one of Budapest’s most picturesque areas.
The bar extends all along the riverbank, with makeshift chairs and tables giving room for an ever-growing crowd. Go during the day to cool off with a riverside breeze, or enjoy a sparkling view of the riverside when night falls--just don’t fall into the river!
Pontoon also regularly hosts live music in the evening, and DJs keep the party going.
