About Alternative Walking Tour

The tour starts in the center of the city but quickly heads away from the main tourist hangouts and stumbles into Budapest's Jewish district, where Budapest's alternative culture is really kicking off. Budapest's uncared for districts are becoming the "places to be."

You'll learn about and visit studios, arts and culture centers, abandoned synagogues, independent street art galleries, and coworking spaces. Along the way, you'll make a quick stop for a coffee in an art and coffee collective or a ruin bar turned community center / bike workshop / analogue photography gallery.

This tour doesn't talk about what happened a hundred years ago, it talks about what is happening right now!
